Sheriff’s Office Responds To Breaking & Entering

On May 21, 2015 deputies from the Allegany County Sheriff's Office responded to a Broadway Street address in Midland in reference to a breaking and entering complaint. Prior to the deputies' arrival the suspect fled on foot and was unable to be located. A short time later the same subject arrived at another address on Railroad Street in Midland and attempted to make contact with the resident. The subject again fled the scene and was located by deputies a short time later inside another residence on Railroad Street. It was learned the subject was not permitted inside the residence and he was taken into custody. The subject was later identified as Brandon Lee Spiker, age 29 of Railroad Street, Midland Maryland. While on scene, deputies located numerous hypodermic needles and drug paraphernalia that belonged to Mr. Spiker.

Mr. Spiker was charged with the following crimes in reference to the incident.

Burglary- First Degree

Burglary – Fourth Degree (2 counts)

Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

Possession of Controlled Drug Paraphernalia

Mr. Spiker was taken before a District Court commissioner and held on a bond of $5000.00 at the Allegany County Detention Center.
