On Monday, April 15, 2013 at approximately 6:35pm the Cumberland Police Department was dispatched to the 200 block of Columbia St. for a report of a subject who had been shot and was running down the street. Officers located the victim near Bond Street and summoned CFD to provide medical treatment. The victim who was identified as 24 year old Rodricus Wilkes was transported to the Western Maryland Health System for treatment. Investigation revealed that Wilkes had been involved in an altercation at 11 Independence St. which led to the shooting. Cumberland Police secured the residence and C3I responded to the scene. At this time the investigation is continuing and further details are pending.
