November 1st, 2016 by WCBC Radio

Baltimore City Police say six people have been killed in a crash involving a Maryland Transit bus and a school bus.

Baltimore City Schools say no children were on the school bus at the time of the collision.

The school bus was heading east bound on Frederick Avenue. The bus struck a Ford Mustang, then a pillar at a near by cemetery before hitting the MTA bus in a near head head-on collision.

The school bus driver is among those declared deceased. The other five listed as deceased were passengers on the MTA bus.

Ten others were injured, including eight who were on the MTA bus, an adult passenger on the school bus and the driver of the Ford Mustang.

Governor Larry Hogan today issued the following statement on the bus crash that took place this morning in Southwest Baltimore:

"The First Lady and I are deeply saddened to hear of the horrific crash this morning in Southwest Baltimore involving a school bus and an MTA commuter bus. Our deepest condolences go out to the victims and their families in the wake of this tragedy. We will continue to pray for those who were injured, as well as the first responders who worked swiftly and continue to care for the injured.

"Our administration gives our full support to the Baltimore City Police Department as they investigate, and we are prepared to offer any state assistance necessary."
