Prices in much of the Mid-Atlantic, including in Maryland, have followed the national average downward over the past two weeks as U.S. oil production increases.

Today’s national average price of $2.29 per gallon represents a decrease of four cents per gallon on the week, no change from the month ago price, but reflects a 46 cents per gallon increase compared to one year ago. Maryland’s average cost of $2.31 per gallon is four cents less than last week, but a penny higher than last month’s price and 43 cents more than the cost last year on this date when the state average was $1.88 per gallon. Cumberland averages $2.44, down a cent from last week
