According to West Virginia State Police, Dale Lyzbicki, 68 of Somerset, Pa., died Tuesday from injuries he suffered after being thrown from a motorcycle on State Route 28 shortly after 4:30 p.m. Monday. He was taken to the Western Maryland Regional Medical Center in Cumberland following the crash and died there Tuesday afternoon.

Kady Boudreaux, 20, of La Plata, WV, and two juvenile passengers in her vehicle were also taken to the hospital for evaluation following the accident.

Trooper W.S. Weakley said the accident occurred on Route 28 at Sherwood Drive when Boudreaux, who was operating a 2002 Chrysler PT Cruiser traveling north, came to a complete stop waiting for southbound traffic to pass to allow her to turn. A 1999 Harley Davidson motorcycle operated by Lyzbicki and also occupied by Billie Lyzbicki, 63, also of Somerset, failed to stop and struck the Boudreaux vehicle in the rear, ejecting the couple from the motorcycle.

Short Gap and Wiley Ford volunteer firefighters and EMS, Ridgeley EMS and the Cumberland Fire Department responded to the scene
