Special Crime Watch Meeting Held To Discuss Georges Creek Area Activity

A special crime watch meeting, with several high-ranking state and local law enforcement officials and politicians in attendance was held at the Lonaconing Town Hall Tuesday night with further discussion on increased crime activity in the Georges Creek area. Among those on hand,  Allegany County  State’s Attorney Mike Twigg, Allegany County Sheriff Craig Robertson, John Dudiak of C3I, County Commissioner Bill Valentine, Lonaconing Police Chief Royce Douty, Lonaconing Mayor Jack Coburn and members of the City Council,  Maryland State Police representatives and others. Some of the issues being experienced in the area include four wheelers on the main roads, drug activity, unsecured win­dows and providing unnecessary information on social media. Last night’s meeting represented a follow-up to a meeting last year focusing on the increase in drug activity.
