The fire alarm at Westernport Elementary School was activated this morning due to a malfunction in the sprinkler system. The local fire department is on site assessing the situation, and ACPS maintenance department personnel are en route to the school. All students were kept on buses this morning until the building was cleared and have since been relocated to the cafeteria. Students will be returning to classrooms as soon as possible, and the instructional day will resume as normal.
