The Maryland State Police command staff, local elected officials, as well as current and former sworn and civilian staff of the Cumberland Barrack on Thursday participated in a ceremony to honor the official closing of the 62 years old facility. Speakers included Superintendent, Colonel William Pallozzi and Lt. H.B. Martz, Commander of the Cumberland Barrack. A special commemoration ceremony was conducted as troopers officially close the current barrack to prepare for construction of a new facility on the same site.
