March 22nd, 2018 by WCBC Radio

(COLLEGE PARK, Md.) – The Maryland State Police reminds motorists that parking is prohibited on controlled access highways such as the Capital Beltway, US 50 and I-95 in the Washington, D.C. area.

The upcoming March for our Lives gathering, set for March 24, 2018 in Washington, D.C., is expected to bring a large influx of visitors to the area. The Maryland State Police is committed to making Maryland’s roadways safe for all who travel them and are asking participants and motorists to assist them with doing so.

Motorists should remember that any vehicle parked on a controlled access highway, impeding the flow of traffic, or creating a hazardous condition will be towed at the owner’s expense.

Please use parking lots provided at Metro stations, carpool, public transportation, or make other arrangements to avoid parking on the highway.
