Storm Summary: Some Received 4-5 Inches of Rain

Four to five inches of rainfall Saturday evening into Sunday morning caused the National Weather Service to declare a Flash Flood Emergency in Bayard in Grant County. Several residents had to be evacuated, and Flash Flood Warnings were also issued for Southwestern Garrett County and neighboring counties through 8 AM.

Several Severe Thunderstorm Warnings were posted for the area just east of Cumberland Saturday night, and storms knocked out power to about a thousand customers of Potomac Edison in Flintstone, Oldtown, Little Orleans and Hancock. In other local areas, trees were knocked down cause debris to inhibit travel on some secondary routes.
