Students Experience Easy as Pi

Selected middle school students were given an opportunity to attend the Easy as Pi event at the Garrett-Jacobs Mansion in Baltimore, Maryland, on March 30, 2016. This event is an outreach program sponsored by the Society of American Military Engineers which allows students to interact with professionals and learn hands-on what career pathways are available in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) fields in Maryland. The focus of this year included the fields of meteorology, forensic science, civil engineering, biological engineering, health epidemics and how they spread, building foundations you can stand on, groundwater supply/protection and environmental contaminants, preparing for a career in Environmental Science/Engineering, and Engineering in your everyday life: Blocking Cell Phone Signals.
