Canan, Laupert named principals at Fort Hill and Allegany

Superintendent of Schools, Dr. David Cox, recently announced several administrative staffing changes for the upcoming 2019-2020 school year. Positions for principals at Allegany and Fort Hill High Schools and Cash Valley Elementary School; Supervisor of Transportation; Supervisor of Athletics, Health and PE, and Mental Health; and Coordinator of Student Support Services and School Safety will all be filled effective July 1st.
Next school year, Heidi Laupert will assume the permanent position of principal at Allegany High School, where she has served in an interim capacity for the past year upon the retirement of Mike Calhoun.
Candy Canan will become the next principal at Fort Hill High School. She will fill the vacancy that will be left at the end of this school year upon the retirement of current principal, Joseph Carter. Canan began her career in ACPS in 2013 as the principal at the Center for Career and Technical Education and Supervisor of Career and Technical Education, where she has remained to date.
Dr. Lisa Stevenson will assume the role of principal at Cash Valley Elementary School. Current principal, Jackie Enright, will take over as the Supervisor of Elementary and Early Childhood Education on July 1st.
Additional staffing assignments are as follows: Mark Morral, current Assistant Supervisor of Transportation, will assume the role of Supervisor of Transportation; Tracey Leonard, current Interim Supervisor of Athletics, Health and PE, and Mental Health, will no longer serve in an interim capacity; and Matt Marlowe, current Interim Coordinator of Student Support Services, will also drop the interim status.

    Carter was a good man. Let’s see how well Mrs. Canan will do for Fort Hill.
