This past spring, a consultant’s report to the Allegany County Board of Education recommended the closing of Parkside and George’s Creek elementary schools as part of a redistricting study currently taking place. That study has caused some high anxiety for parents and students in those communities. Shortly after the report was made public in May, School Superintendent David Cox pledged to meet with parents to answer any questions and address any concerns.
