Suspect In Capital Gazette Shooting Had History Of Making Threats To Newspaper

Former editor of the Capital Gazette Tom Marquardt told ABC News that there was a history between the newspaper and the suspect who shot and killed five people last Thursday- and he was not surprised by the action. Five people were killed and three injured Thursday afternoon in a target shooting at the paper.  Newspaper staff had dealt with threats from the suspect in the past and have always been concerned about security, Marquardt said, adding that angry readers in the past threatened the newspaper over who it endorsed for an election. Marquardt personally got threats, as did others, but they were mostly anonymous- and he adds that he remembers telling the Gazette’s attorneys that ‘This is a guy who is going to come in and shoot us'"…
