Suspect With Machete Arrested On Assault & Other Charges

On 09/20/2016 at approximately 11:00 PM, Deputies of the Allegany County Sheriff's Office responded to the area of Foundry Row Road in Mt. Savage for a reported assault in progress.

Initial dispatch information stated that a subject had broken into a residence and was attempting to assault the occupants with a sword. Additional calls from neighbors stated that there was a fight in the street and that one of the persons had a machete.

Pursuant to the investigation Deputies learned that 36 year old Daniel Lee Beal of Rawlings had allegedly forced his way into a residence and assaulted two occupants while in possession of a machete. An amount of property damage had also occurred. 

Beal was arrested and taken before a District Court Commissioner on the following charges:

 

Home Invasion

Burglary 4th Degree

Assault 1st Degree

Disorderly Conduct

Assault 2nd Degree

Burglary 3rd Degree

Malicious Destruction of Property

Attempted Assault 2nd Degree

Dangerous Weapon-Intent to Injure

 

Beal was subsequently taken to the Allegany County Detention on a temporary Commitment.
