Suspects Arrested in Fort Hill High Breaking & Entering

Summons Served

 

On 7/19/2021 the Cumberland City Police Department were dispatched to Fort Hill High School in reference to a breaking and entering which occurred on 7/17/2021. Upon arrival officers observed that someone had spray painted the walls, thrown trash around the school, and stole property belonging to the school. Security footage was reviewed and officers observed four individuals that were responsible for the acts. A social media post was distributed asking for the public’s assistance. After several leads and further investigations officers identified Steven Michael Merriman, Asha Marie Bayne, Jacob David Lindsey, and a juvenile as the suspects. An application for charges was submitted to the District Court Commissioner and Criminal Summons were issued. On 7/25/2021 officers served Criminal Summons on Merriman, Bayne, and Lindsey. They signed for their copies of the Criminal Summons and are pending trial in District Court.

Charges – Trespass on School Grounds, Trespass on School Grounds to Damage Property, Burglary 4th Degree, Malicious Destruction of Property, Theft Less than $100.00, and Contribute to Conditions of a Child

On 7/25/2021 the Cumberland City Police Department served a Washington County Arrest Warrant on Rahmeir Hussan Chase. Mr. Chase was taken before a District Court Commissioner and was released on his personal recognizance.

Arrested – Rahmeir Hussan Chase (21) Hagerstown, MD

Charges – Assault 2nd Degree and Theft $100.00 to under $1,500.00
