Tackling blight has been a top priority of the current Cumberland City Council- and this year alone numerous properties on Baltimore Avenue, Grand Avenue, Independence Street and Broadway have been razed. It’s not unusual for city officials to get requests on nearly a weekly basis to deal with blighted or dilapidated properties across the city.
