Teen charged with murder in Chambersburg stabbing

The Herald Mail reports aA 17-year-old accused of stabbing a man and driving the victim's car to Burger King has been charged with first-degree murder, the Chambersburg Police Department said. Adiel Sanchez Frometa of Elizabeth, N.J., initially was charged with attempted homicide and related counts after the Nov. 18 incident, according to a police department news release. The victim died a few days later and the charges were amended Wednesday morning.

 

Anthony Alfredo-Hernandez was pronounced dead Nov. 21 at York (Pa.) Hospital, the release said.

Alfredo-Hernandez was found on the ground and bleeding profusely behind a house on North Fourth Street on Nov. 18 at about 9:45 p.m., police said.

Police said one of the man's family members found his car at the Speedway gas station on U.S. 30.

Frometa's former supervisor and others apparently worked together to take Frometa to a Pennsylvania State Police barrack after hearing he might have been involved in an assault, the release said.
