Theft and Domestic Assault Arrests Made

Theft Arrest On 08/15/17 an officer from the Cumberland Police Department responded to a Park Street business for a theft complaint. Once at the business the officer learned that loss prevention witnessed a male subject concealing food items on his person. The officer along with loss prevention contacted the suspect, Cody McClure Propst and recovered the stolen items. Propst was placed under arrest and transported to the station for processing. He was later released on a criminal citation pending trial in district court. Arrested: Cody McClure Propst, 36 Y/O, LaVale, MD Charge: Theft less than $100.00

Warrant Service The Cumberland Police Department served a Fugitive arrest warrant on William Ernest Farrall III. The warrant service stemmed from Farrall being wanted on an outstanding arrest warrant from Pennsylvania for a theft charged. Farrall was held at the Allegany County Detention Center without bond pending extradition to Pennsylvania. Arrested: William Ernest Farrall III, 30 Y/O Cumberland, MD

Domestic Assault Arrest On 08/15/17 officers from the Cumberland Police Department responded to the 500 block of Henderson Avenue for an assault complaint. Upon the officers arrival then spoke with the victim of the assault who advised she was choked by her boyfriend, John Michael DeVore. According to victim she had been arguing with Devore for the majority of the day about household items. Based on the officer’s investigation and observation of injuries they placed DeVore under arrest. DeVore was transported to the station for charges and processing. He was later transported to DC for his initial appearance. As a result of the hearing DeVore was held at the Allegany County Detention Center on a $20,000 bond Arrested: John Michael DeVore, 48 Y/O, Cumberland, MD Charge: Assault 2nd degree
