On Sunday, March 12, 2017 at approximately 12:05 p.m. officers from the Cumberland Police department responded to the 500 block of Arnett Terrace for a CDS complaint. Upon the officers arrival they contacted Marion Bowie, Daniel Gore Jr. and Brittany Smith all of which were seated in a vehicle on Arnett Terrace. Due to indicators presence at the scene, the officer requested a K-9 unit to respond to the scene.  Once on the scene the canine preformed a free air sniff of the vehicle, which resulted in a positive alert to the odor of CDS emanating from the vehicle.

A search of the vehicle was conducted based on the positive alert from the canine.  As a result of the search numerous items of suspected CDS paraphernalia were located inside of the vehicle, and within reach of Gore Jr. and Smith. Also, while on the scene officers learned that Marion Bowie had an active arrest warrant and was placed under arrest.  Gore Jr. and Smith were also placed under arrest for the CDS violation.  The three subjects were transported to the police station for charges and processing. Marion Bowie was later transported to the District Court Commissioners office for her initial appearance.  As a result of the hearing she was held at the Allegany County Detention Center on a $2,000.00 bond.
