Timing Of Superintendent Decision Raises A Few Questions

October 10th, 2019 by WCBC Radio

Tuesday’s surprise decision by the Allegany County Board of Education to name interim superintendent Jeff Blank as the permanent- choosing not to conduct a new search- has raised more than a few questions about the process and the timing.  With the possibility that Wayne Foote could be removed from the board as early as October 22nd- when the state board next meets- some have speculated that the action was calculated – taken while the three member board majority of Robert Farrell, David Bohn and Foote is still in place.  Appearing on WCBC’s ‘Dave Norman Show” Wednesday, Farrell dismissed any notion that the board pushed the action through for fear that the majority vote may be lost if Foote is removed…

Ed Root is coming to drain the local old buddy swamp. Let’s join the broader state and American community and not become insular.

What would be wrong with a local person it won’t take him six months to a year to find his way. I think it’s great!

      > I have nothing against Mr. Blank. If the state okays him for the permanent job, so be it. The broader issue is the three clowns agreed before the meeting to do this – that is of questionable legality, and it is unfair to citizens not to have input into the process. The three clowns have been sneaky about their actions from day one. Farrell is pressing his own man into a position that is not needed and suing the board for eliminating his position. This is the swamp personified. Three of these clowns need to go.
