Top Priority for Veterans Affairs to Eliminate Veteran Unemployment

November 13th, 2013 by WCBC Radio

The message coming from the Maryland Department of Veterans Affairs on this Veterans Day was loud and clear: it's top priority is to eliminate Maryland Veterans unemployment by the end of 2015. Jerry Boden, Chief of Staff of the Maryland Department of Veterans Affairs, says more specifically, the goal is to reduce the Maryland Veterans unemployment rate from between dramatically over the next three years. Boden says while the unemployment rate among Maryland veterans is below the overall unemployment rate in the state, there are still capable veterans who want to work but cannot find work. He applauded Governor Martin O’Malley’s initiative.
