Allegany County Sheriff's Office responded to a motor vehicle accident with injury on Monday at 5:45AM. The accident occurred on rt 135 at the New Page plant in Luke, MD near the filter plant. Upon arrival, police found a single tractor trailer, on its side. The truck belongs to Jay R Marshall INC of Unionville, VA. The driver, Kevin Tate of Madison, VA was transported to Potomac Hospital in Keyser for treatment of non-lifethreatening injuries. Rt 135 was closed for 4 hours to allow for clean-up. The truck was carrying logs. The driver was charged with faillure to control speed to avoid a collision. Sheriff's Office was assisted by Luke, Bloomington and Potomac Fire Department. Tri-Towns EMS and Maryland State Hwy Administration. Maryland State Police Commercial Vehicle Enforcement is also assisting in the investigation.
