Traffic changes announced for 911 Ride

August 18th, 2015 by WCBC Radio

On Friday, August 21,  between 8:00 and 9:00 a.m., America’s 911 Ride, sponsored by the America’s 911 Foundation Incorporated, will arrive in Cumberland. This year marks the 13th year anniversary of the ride traveling through Cumberland.  The America’s 911 Ride will enter Cumberland via the Narrows, Route 36, and continue south on Mechanic Street turning left onto Frederick Street.  The riders will then travel Frederick Street until reaching Naves Crossroads.  Once the riders reach this intersection, they will turn right onto Naves Crossroads and proceed towards I-68 east to Rocky Gap. Traffic will be stopped temporarily on the main route and all intersecting routes through the downtown area to prevent other traffic from impeding with the riders.  These stoppages will occur between 8:00 – 9:00 a.m. in preparation of the riders’ arrival into Allegany County and Cumberland.  Citizens who live and work in Cumberland should expect delays in traveling throughout parts of the city during the event.
