August 27th, 2019 by WCBC Radio

On 8/27/2019 at 1301 hours, the MSP Hagerstown Barrack was notified of an overturned tractor trailer on the westbound Interstate 70 ramp to westbound Interstate 68.  Once on scene, it was found that a 2004 International Truck, pulling an empty tanker trailer, was traveling on westbound Interstate 70.  While navigating the curve on the ramp from Interstate 70 to Interstate 68, the driver lost control and entered the woods.  The truck stayed upright, however, the trailer partially overturned when it came to rest in the wooded area.  Emergency services responded and assisted with pumping unused diesel fuel from the truck.

Fowler was not injured in the collision.  It is unknown at this time why the truck left the roadway.  There is one lane that is open for traffic to get by the collision scene.  Lane 2 of the ramp will remain closed until the truck can be safely removed from the scene.  The roadway is expected to be fully opened by 6 P.M.  MSP Hagerstown was assisted by Hancock Police, Hancock Fire and Rescue services, Hagerstown Fire Department, Maryland SHA and CHART.
