Traffic Stop Results In Numerous Drug/Firearm Charges

On December 3rd, 2019, an Officer of the Cumberland Police Department conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle traveling on Interstate 68 for an equipment violation. When the officer made contact with the operator, identified as Robert Emmanuel Aderoju, the officer detected an odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle. After a subsequent search of the vehicle the officer located marijuana, a large amount of currency, paraphernalia, and a loaded handgun with an altered serial number. Robert was placed under arrest and charged with possession with intent to distribute marijuana, possession of marijuana more than 10 grams, possession of a firearm in the commission of a felony, possession of a firearm under the age of 21, altering the manufactures identification number of a firearm, possession of a firearm during a drug trafficking crime, engaged in a drug trafficking crime using, wearing, carrying, and transporting a firearm, transporting a loaded handgun on or about his person. Robert was remanded to the Allegany County Detention Center where he was held without bond.
