On Friday at approximately 2:30 a.m., a deputy with the Allegany County Sheriff's Office was traveling on N. Lee Street, Cumberland, MD when he observed a vehicle operating with improper color fog lights. The Deputy conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle as it pulled onto the Sheetz parking lot, Greene Street, Cumberland, MD. Upon contacting the operator Ronald Clagget, 53, and passengers Keith Elliott Jones, 21 and a 23 year old female the Deputy could smell the odor of Marijuana coming from the interior of the vehicle. After the arrival of additional units from the Sheriff's Office, and Cumberland City Police a search of the vehicle was conducted.
Subsequent to the search of the vehicle a stolen Smith and Wesson 9mm handgun was located and recovered in addition to a small amount of marijuana. The handgun was loaded at the time of recovery. Clagget was issued traffic citations on the scene and released. Jones and the female were transported to the District Court for charging. Upon arrival it was discovered that name initially provided by the female was that of a family member. An Officer of the Cumberland Police Department was able to confirm the identity of the female to be Billie Jo Resh.
