Trone to be Sworn in Today; Comments on Shutdown

House Democrats will use their new majority Thursday to vote on legislation to end the U.S. government shutdown without adding funds for President Donald Trump’s border wall, but the GOP-controlled Senate already has signaled it won’t act without White House consent. The New Year begins with the continuation of partisan bickering- and that it is something western Maryland’s newest representative in Washington wants to see come to an end. Democrat David Trone will be sworn in today, filling the seat held for the past six years by John Delaney who opted to run for the White House as opposed to another term in the House. Trone, represents Maryland’s Sixth District, which includes Allegany, Garrett and Washington counties…
