Commissioner comments on possible ARC cuts

President Donald Trump has proposed eliminating funding for the Appalachian Regional Commission-stirring fear to many in states like Maryland and West Virginia about the loss of funds for vitally important projects and programs.  The budget would essentially zero out funding for the ARC.  U.S. Senator Ben Cardin, a democrat, says the ARC provides critical grant funding to the Western Maryland region and eliminating the ARC would have a major negative impact.  Allegany County Commissioners President Jake Shade, a republican, acknowledges the cuts would hurt…
