On 9/2/18 at approximately 7:51 pm, a sobriety checkpoint became operational on Garrett Highway @ McHenry Cove overlook, McHenry, MD 21541. The sobriety checkpoint was operational for 2 hours and 27 minutes until 1018 pm. Eight Troopers participated in the checkpoint from the McHenry Barrack, Two Officers from the Maryland Natural Resources Police also participated. The Maryland Department of Transportation also participated by setting up signs and traffic control devices. During the sobriety checkpoint, 783 vehicles were contacted, 7 vehicles were pulled from the line and the operators were given further testing, 2 drivers were arrested and charged with DUI and one driver was charged with possession of marijuana under 10 grams.
