Two Baltimore men sentenced on drug charges In Allegany County Circuit Court

The Office of the State’s Attorney for Allegany County, Michael O. Twigg, State’s Attorney, along with the Allegany County Narcotics Task Force, announced on Wednesday, Karl Stovall Chambers Jr., of Baltimore, was found guilty of CDS Possession with Intent to Distribute: Narcotic, and CDS: Possess-Not Marijuana, in the Circuit Court for Allegany County.

After the guilty verdict, the Honorable W. Timothy Finan, Circuit Court Judge for Allegany County, sentenced Chambers to 18 years’ incarceration (straight time) in the Maryland Department of Corrections.

The case was the result of an investigation conducted by members of the Allegany County Narcotics Task Force, into the distribution and sales of heroin and crack cocaine in Allegany County.

The state was represented by Assistant State’s Attorney Samuel J. Lane. The defendant was represented by Sean M. Gallagher, Esq.

The Office of the State’s Attorney and the Allegany County Narcotics Task Force also announced Wednesday, that Leon Taylor, of Baltimore, was found guilty of CDS: Distribute Narcotic, in the Circuit Court for Allegany County. 

After the guilty verdict, the Honorable W. Timothy Finan, Circuit Court Judge for Allegany County, sentenced Taylor to 20 years’ incarceration, with 8 years’ suspended, in the Maryland Department of Corrections (12 years actual). Following his release, Taylor will be placed on supervised probation for five years.

The case was the result of an investigation conducted by members of the Allegany County Narcotics Task Force, into the distribution and sales of heroin in Allegany County.

The state was represented by Assistant State’s Attorney Samuel J. Lane. The defendant was represented by George V. McKinley, Esq.
