Two Oakland residents were killed early Sunday in an ATV crash in the 4000 block of Bethlehem Road. Zachary Philip Moore, 22, and Macy Ann Dawson, 19, were pronounced dead at the scene at approximately 2:10am.
The ATV reportedly traveled off the roadway and struck a tree. When Garrett County Deputies arrived at the scene they immediately began administering CPR and other life saving procedures before both victims were pronounced.
The accident remains under investigation by the Garrett Co. Sheriff's Office.
Volunteer Fire Departments from Oakland and Deer Park, Southern Garrett Rescue Squad and the Garrett Co. Dept of Emergency Services also responded to the scene. Maryland State Police Trooper 5 helicopter was alerted but was canceled before arrival.
