Two Men Arrested in Local Arson Case

Deputy State Fire Marshals have concluded a vacant house fire investigation with the arrest of two men from the Cumberland area.
The early morning fire originally occurred on January 30, 2013 at 12216 Moores Hollow Road in Cumberland, Maryland. During the investigation of the fire, investigators discovered two suspects were involved with setting a fire in the kitchen of the vacant dwelling. The small blaze was quickly extinguished when a neighbor observed the fire and doused the flames. No injuries were reported as result of this incident. Damages to the dwelling were estimated at $750.00.
Kevin Leslie Vanmeter (24) was released on a $10,000 bond after being charged with Arson 1st Degree and Malicious Burning 2nd Degree. Zachary Canaan Plummer (19) was released on a $5,000 bond after being charged with Solicitation Arson 2nd Degree, Conspiracy Arson 2nd Degree and Conspiracy Malicious Burning 2nd Degree.
