Two Vehicle Collision In Big Pool

On 11/8/2013 at 0108hrs units from the Maryland State Police Hagerstown Barrack responded to a two vehicle collision in Big Pool, MD.  The collision involved two semi-trucks with trailers and it occurred on I-70 East in the area of Boyd Road.  The at-fault driver, identified as Jesse Lee Long, 23, of Rocky Mount, VA, was operating a 2012 Kenworth with one full semi-trailer in-tow.  The non at-fault driver, identified as Marcos Javier Severino, 27, of Miami, FL, was operating a 2007 Volvo with one full semi-trailer in-tow.  The investigation revealed that Long was operating in the left lane when he drifted partially into the right lane striking Severino’s Volvo.  Long subsequently lost control of his vehicle and traveled onto the right shoulder where it struck the grassy embankment.  Severino’s vehicle came to rest just behind Long’s truck partially blocking the right lane.  No injuries were sustained by either driver and Long was charged with negligent driving contributing to an accident.  Neither alcohol nor drugs was a factor in this crash and the roadway was partially closed for 3 hours while the vehicles and trailers were removed from the scene.
