October 10th, 2017 by WCBC Radio On Tuesday at at 11:32 the Cumberland Fire Department along with officers from the Cumberland Police Department responded to the area of Queen City Pavement and Baltimore Street for a report of an unconscious person. Upon arrival, rescuers located 35-year-old male with injuries that were consistent with being assaulted. The injuries appeared to have been sustained during the past few days. The victim was subsequently transported to the hospital for treatment.
The Cumberland Police Department has verified the victim was stablized at Western Maryland Health System and then transported to Morgantown University Hospital for further treatment.
The Cumberland Police Department along with Detectives from the Allegany County Combined Criminal Investigation Unit are investigating the matter. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Cumberland Police Department at 301-777-1600.
