During the overnight hours a water main break occurred in the 200 block of Columbia Street.
Cumberland Water Department personnel worked into the early morning stopping the leak and repairing service, which had been shut down on Columbia, Valley, Bedford and other nearby streets in North End.
Water reportedly shot 50 feet into the air, glazing nearby homes, shrubs and power lines with ice.
