USDA Community Grants Headed to WV Counties

Congressman Alex X. Mooney (WV-02) announced $202,300 in grant funding from the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) Community Facilities Grants Program for Morgan, Hardy, Hampshire, Kanawha and Clay Counties.

“Assuring that local businesses and governments have access to federal resources is a top priority of mine. I am happy to fight and help secure funds that are vital four our economic development and public safety to local communities,” said Congressman Mooney. 

Awards listed below:

Morgan County

Town of Paw Paw, $22,500

This USDA investment will be used by the Town of Paw Paw to purchase a new Dodge Charger Police Pursuit Car, with all necessary equipment.

Hardy County

Town of Moorfield, $70,600

This USDA investment will be used by the Town of Moorefield to purchase a new dump truck with snow plow package and box spreader.

Hampshire County

City of Romney, $33,700

This investment will be used to purchase a 2019 Ford F250 4X4 service truck to be used daily by the Public Works Department.  It will include a snow plow package, LED warning lights and tool boxes.



Kanawha County

City of Montgomery, $50,000

This USDA investment will be used to purchase a new garbage packer truck for the City of Montgomery.

Clay County

Big Otter Volunteer Fire Department, 25,500

This USDA investment will be used for the purchase of a new all-terrain emergency vehicle and trailer for the transport of that vehicle.
