Valentine Comments on Plans for Old Allegany Location

After 93 years, Allegany High School on Sedgwick Street closed its doors for the final time this week with a ribbon cutting soon to take place at the new building on Haystack Mountain. The new $51 million Allegany is set to open in August for the new school year. What will become of the old school has not yet been determined. Schools that are closed and no longer utilized by the board of education are returned to the county. County Commissioner Bill Valentine tells WCBC News that no formal talks about the future of the location have taken place, but he anticipates any number of options will be considered…
