Allegany County Commissioner Bill Valentine says he has every confidence a combined city/county Emergency Medical/Ambulance service operation will be in place prior to the start of FY 2019. Talks between the city of Cumberland and Allegany County on such a proposal started too late in the budget season to have the proposal come to fruition this year- but talks are ongoing and progress is being made. Valentine said the biggest hurdle centers on EMS personnel, as the city operation has a mixture of men and women serving in duel roles with fire and ems. Those details have to be worked out…
