The war of words between the Allegany County Commissioners and the Board of Education reached a new level Wednesday when Commissioner Bill Valentine suggested that the school board is violating the state’s sunshine law. Valentine, speaking on WCBC’s “Dave Norman Show”, serves as the school board’s ex-officio member and there is currently a debate between the two sides over which parts, if any, of a closed.or executive session Valentine should be allowed to attend. That issue, which may end up in court, sparked addition comments from Valentine. He said the commissioners believe the board members are discussing some matters that should be dealt with in public settings- behind closed doors.
