June 12th, 2017 by WCBC Radio

On Monday at approximately 1100 hours, troopers from the Cumberland barrack were working criminal interdiction on Interstate 68 near Little Orleans, MD.  A green Ford Festiva was observed traveling above the posted speed limit, when troopers attempted to stop the vehicle, the operator refused to comply.  The operator, who was later identified as Shaun Aaron Brooks, continued west on I68 at a speed of 110 mph in an attempt to elude troopers.  The pursuit continued west into Cumberland City and then east again via Valley, Bedford, Mason and Rocky Gap Roads.  The vehicle drove through a yard on Old Johnson Road and then continued back onto Route 144 where it came to a stop due to overheating and damage to the vehicle engine.  Mr. Brooks was taken into custody without further incident and charged with multiple traffic violations.  ACSO and CPD also assisted in the pursuit and apprehension of Mr. Brooks.  This investigation is continuing.
