WCBC reported the news yesterday afternoon that Verso Paper Corporation is acquiring New Page, the parent company of the Luke Mill, for $1.4 Billion dollars.
Patsy Koontz, the public relations manager at the Luke Mill, says the sale won't be completed until later this year.
As for the future of the local mill, Verso Management has indicated there are no current plans to close any of the paper mills it will acquire in the deal…
