Vote Passed To Reduce MD Revenue Projections For Next Two Fiscal Years

After a Thursday meeting of the Maryland Board of Revenue Estimates, a vote was passed to reduce the revenue projections for the state’s fiscal years in 2017 and 2018. The total revenue projection will drop $38.3 million, $13.8 million in 2017 and $24.5 million in 2018. These reductions highlight the fact that Maryland’s economy is still fairly weak. Projections show that there will be a three percent growth in sales and use tax revenue. Comptroller Peter Franchot said this won’t be a return to normal, but it is a step in the right direction…
