On Monday at approx. 9:34 p.m., officers from the Cumberland Police Department were handling a suspicious complaint in the 400 block of Maryland Avenue when they observed a wanted subject. Officers made contact with the subject who was identified as Jonathan Edward Harriss. The officers confirmed the warrant for assault and attempted to take Harriss into custody. Harriss attempted to flee from officers but after a short distance officers were able to catch Harriss who continued to resist. After a brief struggle Harriss was taken into custody. Harriss was transported to Cumberland Police Headquarters for processing and to await a hearing at the District Court Commissioner’s Office. At the conclusion was the hearing Harriss was held on a $5,000.00 bond.

Charges: 2nd Degree Assault, Resisting Arrest, Obstructing and Hindering, and Disorderly Conduct
The Cumberland Police Department arrested Andrew Scott Walker on a fugitive from justice warrant. Walker was wanted in Mineral County, WV for violation of probation. Officers took Walker into custody without incident. He was transported to the District Court Commissioner where he was held without bond pending extradition back to West Virginia.
