Warrant Served On Robbery/Other Charges & CDS Arrest

On May 1, 2018 the Cumberland Police served an arrest warrant on Malek Bernard Redman for an incident that occurred on April 28, 2018.  In that incident the Cumberland Police responded to the 200 block of Memorial Avenue in reference to a robbery. Police learned an adult male victim was inside his residence when Redman entered without permission.  The victim told Redman to leave, but he refused. A scuffle then occurred between Redman and the victim when Redman reached for money that was located in a room in the residence. Redman assaulted the victim before fleeing with the money.  Police filed for charges with the District Court Commissioner and Redman was charged with Robbery, 1st Degree Burglary, 2nd Degree Assault, Theft Less Than $100, and Trespassing on Private Property.  Redman was taken before a District Court Commissioner for a bond hearing where he was held without bond.  He was taken to the Allegany County Detention Center to await his next appearance in District Court. The victim was not injured during the incident.

Charges:  Robbery, 1st Degree Burglary, 2nd Degree Assault, Theft Less Than $100, and Trespassing on Private Property

 

 

On May 2, 2018 at approximately 1:40 AM a Cumberland Police Officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle operated by Marcus Andrew Young for a traffic violation.  A probable cause search was conducted on the vehicle and several items of CDS were located to include a suspected baggie of heroin and a hypodermic syringe. Young was arrested for Possession of CDS-Not Marijuana and Possession of Controlled Paraphernalia.  Young was taken before a District Court Commissioner where he was released on his personal recognizance pending trial in District Court. The investigation is continuing and additional charges are pending.

Charges:  Possession of CDS-Not Marijuana and Possession of Controlled Paraphernalia
