A recent Arrest Warrant Initiative was conducted by the Cumberland Police Department’s Safe Streets Program. The Operation Safe Streets Warrant Initiative began Monday, March 20, and concluded Friday. The goal continues to be making streets safer through the reduction of open arrest warrants. The Safe Streets Operation sought citizen help in locating and apprehending individuals on open arrest warrants and Grand Jury Indictments.
This initiative resulted in the arrest of Twenty-seven (27) individuals on active arrest warrants, with a total of Twenty-seven (27) arrest warrants being served.
This was another successful operation conducted with Officers from the Cumberland City Police Department and Deputies from the Allegany County Sheriff’s Department, together with the warrant fugitive officers, who combined their resources to reduce the number of active arrest warrants in Allegany County.
