WATER MAIN BREAK

The City of Cumberland Water Department had an emergency shut down due to a 24" water main break on Baltimore Avenue @ Decatur Street. The areas affected include North End, West Side, and East Side. There is also a 6" water main break at the corner of Magruder and Wallace Streets. This leak is also affecting North End.

TO CLARIFY: ALL Cumberland district schools, which includes ALLEGANY, BEL AIR, BRADDOCK, CASH VALLEY, CRESAPTOWN, FLINTSTONE, FORT HILL, JOHN HUMBIRD, NORTHEAST, PARKSIDE, SOUTH PENN, WASHINGTON, WEST SIDE, will be dismissing 2 HOURS EARLY today.

The city's water department is now reported that the water problems downtown are the result of a 30" main break and the shut down has been extended up to Altamont Terrace.  Repairs are expected to continue through the 5 o'clock hour.ssues today as a result of the  situation that began on Harrison Street. City Administrator Jeff Rhodes says  said downtown businesses and residents could experience a loss of water or at least reduced pressure- and at this point it isn’t known how long the repairs will take…





As a result, the District Court building was forced to closedat 1PM
