The city's water department is now reported that the water problems downtown are the result of a 30" main break and the shut down has been extended up to Altamont Terrace. Repairs are expected to continue through the 5 o'clock hour.ssues today as a result of the situation that began on Harrison Street. City Administrator Jeff Rhodes says said downtown businesses and residents could experience a loss of water or at least reduced pressure- and at this point it isn’t known how long the repairs will take…

The City of Cumberland Water Department had an immediate emergency shutdown due to a 6” water main break at Locust Street and Fairmont Avenue. Crews are just now arriving at the site.
