Weather A Factor In Frostburg Mishap

On Friday, March 9, 2018, at approximately 10:38 p.m., Frostburg City Police responded to a motor vehicle crash at the intersection of Bowery Street and East College Avenue.

Upon investigating at the scene, officers found that Nylah E. Gayles, 19, of Upper Marlboro, had been driving a 2002 Mercedes eastbound on East College Avenue and had a stop sign at the said intersection. A 17-year-old female had been driving a 2010 Chevrolet southbound on Bowery Street at the same intersection and had the right-of-way.

Police found that as both vehicles arrived at the intersection, Gayles failed to yield the right-of-way, entered the intersection, and collided with the juvenile’s vehicle. No injuries were reported. Gayles was cited for failure to control speed to avoid a collision, failure to yield right-of-way, negligent driving, and failureWeat to reduce speed in dangerous conditions.
