The National Weather Service in Sterling Virginia has expanded the * Flash Flood Watch to include portions of Maryland, Virginia, and West Virginia, including the following areas, in Maryland, Calvert, Carroll, Central and Eastern Allegany, Frederick MD, St. Marys, and Washington. In Virginia, Clarke, Frederick VA, Page, Shenandoah, Warren, and Western Loudoun. In West Virginia, Berkeley, Hampshire, Hardy, Jefferson, and Morgan. * Until 2 AM EDT Monday * Showers and thunderstorms capable of heavy rain are expected this afternoon and evening, and may lead to flash flooding. Localized rainfall amounts of 1 to 3 inches are expected. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation. You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action should Flash Flood Warnings be issued.
