Western Maryland Goes To War Concludes Today

Western Maryland Goes To War, celebrating and remembering those who served during military action, will conclude today in Cumberland.

Allegany County Regional Airport – 9 am – 1 pm – Wing and Wheels, all-you-can-eat breakfast, 50/50 drawing, vendors, static displays, Music by Night Traveler, beautiful aircraft, antique cars, and motorcycles to view. The special guest will be Wings of Appreciation, who bring Wounded Warriors from Virginia for a day of relaxation and fun. Color Guard by The Civil Air Patrol. Free Young Airplane rides for children ages 8 to 17, weather permitting and pilots available.

Allegany Museum – 1 – 4 pm 
1 pm – Greatest Generation video created by the Fort Hill High School AP History Class
2 pm – Cold War Discussion with Joe Weaver, former 1st Lt. during the Cold War, retired professor of history at Allegany College of Maryland
3 pm – Desert Storm Discussion with Sgt. Major of the Army Kenneth Preston (retired)
1 -4 pm Military Display

Gordon Roberts House – 1 – 5 pm – Open House/Military Display
